Mrs. Margaret McCoy
I am extremely happy to be joining the staff of BCA as your new Principal. I am very passionate about Christian education, and look forward to partnering with you in the continued academic and spiritual growth of your children. My undergraduate degree is in elementary education, and my Master’s from the University of Dayton is in education, with minors in music from both schools.
Before coming to BCA, I taught for eight years at the elementary level, and also served as Principal at two different Christian schools for eight more years. I have four children, and have always loved the fall of the year. Reading, outdoor education, travel, and family outings are what I love doing in my spare time.
My husband and I attend Grace Fellowship and meet regularly in a small group. There are wonderful, Christian people everywhere, and I believe every person that God brings into our lives is a divine appointment. I feel very blessed to be getting to know the staff and students at Brice Christian Academy, and look forward to the years ahead!
My life’s verse is Deuteronomy 33:27—-“The eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…” In these sometimes difficult times, we can all rest in this promise!! I look forward to what God has planned for BCA this year, and pledge to do my best for His glory.

I’ve experienced an unexplainable joy that comes from striving to know God more and incorporating Him into my everyday routines. Nothing I have accomplished so far has been done aparrt from His power and grace. So much of what I do on a daily basis in the classroom is impossible without mentioning Him. I am so very blessed to be working in an environment where I am permitted to share the love of God with my students!
Philosophy of Christian Education: I believe that the quality of education a person receives in early life is indispensable in bringing out that person’s truest potential and that all children should have access to quality and compassionate education. All children have the capacity to learn and grow in their own uniquely individualized way. I believe these ideals are encapsulated in the program at Brice Christian Academy and I strive to be a valuable addition to the team.
Personal Life: I am the mother of two boys, Logan (8) and Luke (3). My favorite thing to do is to spend family time going on “adventures” – exploring interesting places, events and activities. After 6 years of subbing, I joined Brice Christian Academy as a 4th grade teacher. I am starting my 10th year here at Brice.
Christian Testimony: I was born into a loving home with parents who took me to church each Sunday. I was raised in the Methodist Church. Life got tough in my early 20’s and I found myself seeking the Lord for comfort through my trials. As life continued on I discovered that the commintment I made to Christ when I was young was not enough. Being a Christian was more of a process than I had realized. So, over the years, I have taken steps to grow my faith. My goal is to be less like me and more like Jesus. The unthinkable happened in our family 6 years ago. Our eldest son, Ben, passed away. He was only 22. It was a hard time in our lives. But, an amazing thing happened. My husband and I held on tight to the Lord. The Lord gave us PEACE, and my husband and I grew even closer together. Our resolve to serve the Lord became stronger. I know that my son is in heaven, and he is safe with the Lord. We look for the day when we will once again be united with him in heaven. For now, serving the Lord, however He calls, is our life goal.
Personal Life: Bob and I are celebrating 32 years of marriage in January. Paul and Andrew are our earthly sons. We attend Grace Fellowship on Refugee Road . We enjoy playing cards, watching all the Cleveland sports teams (Cavaliers, Browns, and Indians), hiking, and traveling.

I am a faithful member of the Pickerington Church of Christ where I participate in activities for the young adults, various mission trips (Nashville and Switzerland), as well as being a camp counselor with our church camp.
Philosophy of Education: I believe all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I believe it is my role as a teacher to act as a guide to student learning and that students learn best from hands on activities.
Personal Life: I am an active member of Pickerington Church of Christ. I am currently planning on going on a mission trip to Switzerland in July with our mission team. Outside of school and church, I enjoy reading, Ohio State football, and playing with my puppy named Buckeye.

Mrs. Laurie Bruckner, K-8th Music and Band Teacher
I am delighted to join the faculty at BCA as music teacher! The most important thing about me is that I am a child of God. I became a member of God’s family when I accepted Christ as my Savior, having my sin forgiven and beginning a new and everlasting life in me, when I was a little girl. The Lord has continued to direct my life, helping me grow in faith and joy in Him throughout the amazing course of life He has led me through.
As a music teacher I have taught in both public and private schools from Kindergarten to college, including schools in both the US and abroad. I have been blessed to be a part of church families rich in years of heritage and also new church plants, of churches with brothers and sisters in Christ of status and prosperity as well as refugees and those recovering from lives of addictions and struggle.
Our family has recently moved to the Columbus area and we love being a part of the New Life Community Church in Canal Winchester, where I have recently joined the musical worship team.
My most loved hobbies these days are watching my children in their activities. My husband of 21 years and I have three teenaged children, so our evenings are full of lessons, events and social gatherings. A favorite way to contribute to the fun for me is cooking and baking.
I am a graduate of Nyack College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and The University of Akron, with a Master’s in Music Ed. I look forward to teaching the students here at BCA to grow in knowledge, wisdom and faith through music!

Philosophy of Christian Education:Our goal as christian educators should be to support
the children in their walk with Christ. We should also be aware of children in their special talents and needs and accept them accordingly. Mrs. Rachael DeLaTorre
Mrs. Theresa Lee
I am proud to have been associated in some capacity with Brice Christian Academy since 1995. Both of my children went to Brice Preschool and the BCA for their elementary years. I have been the church secretary, hospitality minister, the school janitor and finally the Lunchroom Supervisor.
I love spending time with the children at breakfast and lunch. I have worked very hard to incorporate the government guidelines in school nutrition while also trying to prepare foods that I know the students will enjoy (or at least try once). I look at the time during lunch as a continuation of their academic growth. They learn what healthy portion sizes are and also experience a variety of good food choices.
